Purpose: The purpose of Alpha Zeta Chapter shall be the same as that of DKG/NC DKG North Carolina State Organization
Mission Statement: The mission statement of Alpha Zeta Chapter shall be the same as that of DKG/NC DKG North Carolina State Organization.
Vision Statement: The vision statement of Alpha Zeta Chapter shall be the same as that of DKG/NC DKG North Carolina State Organization.
Goal: Grow/Strengthen/Support Chapter Membership
Objective 1.1: To encourage growth of chapter membership
Objective 1.2: To increase the retention of members
Objective 1.3: To seek members for reinstatement
Objective 1.4: To encourage professionalism and increase professional activities
Objective 1.5: To provide personal growth opportunities to members and non-member women
educators
Objective 1.6: To implement and encourage activities that focus on Educational Excellence
(EEC)
Objective 1.7: To expand information and communication

Goal: Grow/Strengthen/Support Chapter Membership
Objective 1.1: To encourage growth of chapter membership
- Recognize members who provide outstanding support to beginning teachers
- Promote the use of scholarship information for new members as a benefit of membership
- Distribute NC DKG North Carolina State Organization information in chapter newsletter, on the website and Facebook page to inform and connect members to promote growth and retention of chapter membership
- Distribute DKG Information Kits to new members
- Plan and promote one social outing per year outside of business and Executive Board meetings
Objective 1.2: To increase the retention of members
- Honor members with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of membership
- Honor long term members (50, 55, 60 or more years) and ask State President for written recognition
- Send messages to members not in attendance at chapter meetings
- Distribute NC DKG North Carolina State Organization information in chapter newsletter, on the website and Facebook page to inform and connect members to promote growth and retention of chapter membership
- Keep close communication with reserve members
Objective 1.3: To seek members for reinstatement
- Invite former members to consider reinstatement
- Encourage chapter members to make personal contact with former member
Objective 1.4: To encourage professionalism and increase professional activities
- Recognize members’ higher-level achievements, awards and honors
- Promote the availability and benefits of NC DKG North Carolina State Organization and DKG National Scholarships
Objective 1.5: To provide personal growth opportunities to members and non-member women
educators
- Determine graduating senior high school recipient for yearly Grant-in Aid award
- Promote and determine recipients of “Wishful Thinking” Grant awards for beginning teachers
- Encourage/sponsor chapter members’ attendance at leadership development seminars and conferences on state/regional/national levels
- Encourage those members seeking higher educational degrees to apply for DKG Scholarships
Objective 1.6: To implement and encourage activities that focus on Educational Excellence
(EEC)
- Restructure/combine the eleven sub-committees under the EEC umbrella to provide a working plan that meets the goals/objectives of the Alpha Zeta Chapter within the guidelines of DKG/NC DKG North Carolina State Organization
Objective 1.7: To expand information and communication
- Continue to encourage members’ use of the DKG/NC DKG North Carolina State Organization websites for current information/news/updates
- Continue the use of the Alpha Zeta Website and “A-Z” newsletter” with appropriate links to NC DKG North Carolina State Organization
- Provide press releases and pictures to local news media about accomplishments of AZ members/chapter
- Submit articles and photographs to “NC DKG North Carolina State Organization News”
- Continue to provide hard copies of the “A-Z Newsletter” to members on reserve or members who do not use a computer
- Encourage all chapter members to utilize DKG/NC DKG North Carolina State Organization website for reference and information.
