Duties of Chapter Officers
President:
• Acts as presiding officer at regular and called meetings and direct the activities of her chapter
• Acts as chairman of the Chapter Executive Board, appoints a parliamentarian, standing and special committees
• Approves for payment all expense claims and approves publications
• Serves as an ex officio member in the process of budget development and the supervision of chapter finances
• Fills by appointment all vacancies in office and represents the society at meetings, conferences, and other events
• Takes action, with advice and approval of executive board, on matters which cannot be deferred until the next meeting
• Maintains documents, publications, membership supplies, forms and reports up to date
• Serves as a member of the state organization executive board and participates in all meetings
First Vice President:
• Serves as presiding officer in the absence of the president
• Succeeds to the presidency and serves until the next regular election in the event the president can no longer fulfill her duties
• Serves as chairman of the program committee
Secretary:
• Keeps minutes of each meeting of the organization
• Furnishes the president with a copy of such minutes
• Serves as secretary to the executive board
• Carries on such correspondence as may be delegated to her by the president
Treasurer:
• Receives and pays out all moneys belonging to the organization
• Keeps an accurate account of receipts and expenditures
• Keeps a file of receipts, bills, canceled checks, and bank statements
• Presents a report at each regular meeting and takes care of any financial obligations throughout the year
• Files required tax report at the end of the fiscal year(due July 15th, the fiscal year of the Society begins July 1 and ends June 30.)
• Follows appropriate procedures to ensure the safe and proper handling of chapter money
• Serves as an ex-officio member in the process of budget development and supervision of chapter finances
